SUBJECT:Skilled Nursing Facility Infection Prevention Meetings (This AFL supersedes AFL 20-50)
All Facilities Letter (AFL) Summary
- This AFL notifies skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) that the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) began hosting weekly SNF Infection Prevention Calls, May 7, 2020. The weekly calls will be held to discuss any recent updates on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
- This AFL is updated to notify SNFs that in addition to the weekly calls CDPH is also hosting weekly SNF Infection Prevention webinars, beginning June 24, 2020.
Beginning June 24, 2020, CDPH will host weekly Wednesday SNF Infection Prevention webinars in addition to the Thursday infection prevention calls for SNFs. CDPH will be hosting these meetings to discuss COVID-19 updates and provide an additional venue for addressing questions. These meetings will be focused on infection prevention guidance and it is recommended that SNF infection preventionist staff attend. Local health departments and SNF administrators, directors of nursing and medical directors are also encouraged to attend.
The first four Wednesday webinars on June 24, July 1, July 8, and July 15 have been scheduled and the log in/registration information is posted on the Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) website. Please check the HSAG website weekly for WebEx registration information. Please register in advance for each webinar; space is limited. A recording link will be available the day following the webinar.
- Time: Wednesdays, 3:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Question and answer opportunities will only be available via the chat box tool. If there are more questions in the chat box than time allows, those questions will carry over to the Thursday calls.
